General Pipe Cleaners’ Root Ripper has a heavy steel spring with a tapered point that screws into the roots while a claw at the front rips them out. The device is made of hardened spring steel for durability and is coated to protect against rust. It also can be adapted to sectional machines or to other brands of cable-type drain cleaners. The Root Ripper can be used in combination with General’s Flexicore cables that are strong enough to deliver the torque needed to cut tough stoppages.
