ARI Reports Statistics On 2003 A/C And Heat Pump Sales

Shipments of unitary air conditioners and air-source heat pumps in 2003 totaled 7.35 million, just surpassing total shipments of 7.34 million in 2002, according to the Air-Conditioning & Refrigeration Institute. Domestic shipments were 6.8 million, up about 60,000 from 2002. Export shipments were 550,000, down by about 50,000 from 2002.
