Jan. 4, 2008 - Combined Air Conditioner, Heat Pump Shipments Jump Four Percent

Combined U.S. factory shipments of central air conditioners and air-source heat pumps for November 2007 totaled 349,801, a four percent jump compared with November 2006 totals, according to the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI). Year-to-date combined U.S. factory shipments totaled 6 million, down 9 percent from the same period last year.

Heat pump shipments for November 2007 totaled 121,865, up seven percent compared with November 2006 shipments. Year-to-date heat pump shipments totaled 1.8 million, down 10 percent from the same period last year.
