In memorium: Abe Kogan
PHCP distribution veteran Abe Kogandied in early January at the age of 92. Kogan owned a number of supply houses over the years including Builders Plumbing Supply (Illinois, Missouri and Kentucky), Glendale Pipe & Supply (Milwaukee and Madison, Wis.), Southwest Pipe & Supply (Florida), Kitchen Distributors of America (Illinois and Pennsylvania) and Lighting Distributors of America (Illinois).
“This is a man among men,” Buffalo Grove, Ill.-based Banner Supply’s Scott Helferwrote to Supply House Times. “He came into every department and said hello to all his employees every day and gave words of praise to all. He called all his customers ‘his partner.’ He was a mentor to me. I have been in the plumbing business since I was a teenager and now 35 years later he still inspires me.”
