While still higher than six months ago, copper prices have been falling over the past three months. This position is as predicted in late 2016 by the committee of authors who prepare this report. They expect the slow devaluation to continue, partially due to the newfound strength of the U.S. dollar vs. Asian currencies. The political issues surrounding Indonesian mines have the potential to affect copper prices moving forward as well.
