The Macomb Group recently embarked on the next phase of its expansion in the southeast.

This summer, the Sterling Heights Mich.-based distributor will relocate its Matthews, North Carolina operations to a newly constructed 80,000-square- foot facility in Charlotte. “This state-of-the-art facility will serve as our Southeastern headquarters and will provide us with the necessary space as we expand regional operations,” said Bill McGivern, CEO of The Macomb Group.

The new facility will include an indoor pipe bay that can accommodate 18-wheelers on both ends served by overhead cranes, as well as valve assembly, fabrication, a modern office environment and a walk-in counter.

“We have outgrown our current facility in Matthews and with the opportunity to start fresh, we spent the last year evaluating more than a dozen locations, taking into consideration customer needs, accessibility, our employees and our growth plans,” commented David Lefko, regional branch manager.

Herb Towery, regional sales manager, added: “With the input of numerous colleagues across the organization to discuss floor plans, racking and pipe bays, crane proposals, and interior office space, it feels like we’ve been preparing for the big game, and we’re excited to have this next phase underway.
