One-hundred years and five generations later, Bensalem, Pennsylvania-based J. Lorber Co. celebrates a century of service.
Founded in 1918 by Joseph Lorber, a tin-smith by trade in Philadelphia, the company had humble beginnings as a roofing and heating supply business.
Over the last 100 years, times have changed and J. Lorber has adapted. From its founding with the original storefront on 1932 Germantown Ave., in Philadelphia to a wholesale-distributor with four locations throughout the Delaware Valley region of Philadelphia, including Bensalem and Pipersville, Pennsylvania, Pennsauken NJ and its newest location in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, J. Lorber supplies the needs of trade professionals for plumbing, heating and industrial products that have blanketed the area skyline over the last 100 years, the distributor noted.
Homeowners and remodelers can experience J. Lorber’s Bath Studio, a showroom with fixtures, vanities, tubs and showers on display in Bensalem and now in Newtown Square.
“We are very proud of the milestone. As a local family-run business we pride ourselves on the personal relationships we have made over the years. We thank our customers, employees and partners for making this happen,” said Steven Lorber, J. Lorber Co. president.
J. Lorber said it remains a fabric of the Philadelphia-area community and looks forward to celebrating this momentous year with its customers, employees and vendors. The company will be announcing special events in 2018 that will celebrate this momentous occasion, J. Lorber Co., added.
