Bedford, Massachusetts-based F.W. Webb Co. now has a presence in New York City following the acquisition of Palace Plumbing & Heating Supply, a wholesale distributor with a location in Manhattan and the Bronx. Owning more than a dozen locations in upstate New York, the transaction extends F.W. Webb into a vital metropolitan region and grows the company’s footprint across the state, the distributor noted.
“We have had a desire to get into New York City. Over the past couple years, we have been working toward that goal by making acquisitions and opening new locations in the surrounding area,” said Jeff Pope, F.W. Webb president. “Palace is known to be a top supplier in the industry and we are pleased to have the opportunity to serve their customers.”
Effective today, the two locations will begin operating as F.W. Webb. Employment offers were made to all Palace Plumbing & Heating Supply associates and most of them will become F.W. Webb employees, the distributor noted. The wholesale stores will offer plumbing, heating, HVAC, refrigeration and PVF inventory for commercial and residential contractors. Services will include online ordering, an inventory replenishment program and 24/7 emergency service.
“F.W. Webb has that small family feel, but it is backed by a large distribution network. I’m confident that they will continue to provide the high-quality products and world-class service that our customers have become accustomed to over the last 44 years,” said Frank Hartman, principal executive office, Palace Plumbing & Heating Supply.
In June, F.W. Webb expanded its business into Long Island with the acquisition of North Fork Plumbing & Heating Supply in Riverhead, N.Y. Earlier this year, the company also became an official sponsor of the New York Yankees.
