Ferguson Enterprises recently announced the acquisitions of Blackman Plumbing Supply and Wallowork Brothers, thus expanding its presence in the New York metro area.
Founded in 1921, Blackman Plumbing Supply has 21 locations and employs more than 450 associates in New York and New Jersey, and is one of the Northeast’s largest distributors of plumbing supplies and a supplier of HVAC and waterworks products and solutions. The company will transition to the Ferguson brand over the next several months, Ferguson Enterprises noted.
With 12 locations across New York and New Jersey, Wallwork Bros, Inc. is a supplier of heating and cooling products in the Northeast. Founded in 1920, the company employs 68 associates and is a major distributor of both residential and commercial Trane products. The company will rebrand as Wallwork, a Ferguson enterprise.
Ferguson solidified its growth in the New York metro area with the acquisition of Davis & Warshow in 2012 and the creation of its first Market Distribution Center in 2015 – a facility designed to provide its customers in the New York metro area same-day or next-day product deliveries within a 100-mile radius. Last year, the company expanded its foothold in the market with the opening of a new showroom in Brooklyn’s waterfront neighborhood, Brooklyn Bridge Park. After the acquisitions of Blackman Plumbing Supply and Wallwork, Ferguson has 99 locations in New York and New Jersey.
“Blackman Plumbing Supply and Wallwork are two well-established companies in the New York metro area. Both have a long history and great customer relationships in the market,” Ferguson CEO Kevin Murphy said. “Our expanded footprint will allow us to better serve our customer base, particularly on Long Island.”
