Steel shipments decreased for the sixth consecutive month in the U.S., and for the ninth consecutive month in Canada, Metals Service Center Institute  reports.

Aluminum shipments increased in both countries, reversing a four-month decline in the U.S.

U.S. service center steel shipments in April decreased by 5.3% from April 2018. Shipments of aluminum products increased by 3.1% from the same month in 2018.

Canadian center steel shipments in April decreased by 13.2% from April 2018. Shipments of aluminum products in Canada increased by 4.5% from the same month in 2018, MSCI reports.
