Milwaukee Valve Co. announced the recent death of Glenn Whelan, the company’s inside sales manager. A 29-year veteran of the valve manufacturer, Whelan had advanced from the shop floor in Prairie du Sac, Wisconsin, to manage the entire inside sales department.
Whelan’s career with Milwaukee Valve began as a bench assembler in 1990. His positive “can-do” attitude and ability to work well with others made him a great asset when a customer-service position became available in 1993, the company explained. Whelan continued to thrive and grow with new assignments and responsibilities until he was appointed as sales service manager, where he managed the entire customer service department.
“Throughout his years, Glenn was always quick to lend a helping hand, a sympathetic ear, a friendly smile,” observed Tom LaGuardia, vice president of sales and marketing for the valve manufacturer. “Over the last several months, I came to learn how much he meant to so many others in our work family. While updating the staff on his recovery, I realized just how far his reach was into our organization. He touched so many others with his caring presence. He will be sorely missed.”
