Navien took the first step into the non-condensing market by introducing its new Navien Premium Non-condensing (NPN) series tankless water heaters during its tankless innovation event at North American headquarters in Irvine, California.

The new NPN is offered in two series, the NPN-U (universal) and NPN-E (exterior), both of which will be available in 160,000, 180,000 and 199,900 Btu/h models for either natural gas or liquid propane (visit Facebook.com/PMmagazine/videos for more).

It was seven years ago that Navien launched the NPE series. Since then the company has seen a lot of growth – going from being in the top 20 for water heater manufacturers to being in the top 5, it noted. The company utilizes the technology and innovation that helped make that NPE series successful within the NPN series, Navien added.

“Not so very long ago, we celebrated one million units sold in North America,” Navien CEO Scott Lee told launch attendees. “You may have noticed our commemorative unit just outside as you walked into the room. We hope that soon, very soon, we will be celebrating two million units sold.”

Navien noted the NPN series is the first and only non-condensing tankless series to offer NaviTech technology that includes a stainless steel heat exchanger and an advanced stainless-steel burner with the same very low NOx level as the NPE.

The NPN-U series features the first and only non-condensing tankless water heaters to offer indoor and outdoor operation within the same unit, and include an integrated control panel within the cover of the unit, the company added. Both the NPN-U and NPN-E have recirculation control built into their circuit boards and are designed with a pin-to-pin matching configuration for easy retrofit installations, Navien stated.

Additional features of the 0.81 UEF NPN series include: Wi-Fi remote control capability with NaviLink, cascade capability with other NPN units, low noise levels for quiet operation, and a sleek, space-saving and lightweight design.
