National Standard Plumbing Code sets date for public hearing
IAPMO encourages members and industry representatives to review proposed code changes.

IAPMO encouraged members and industry representatives to review the proposed code changes for the 2027 National Standard Plumbing Code and attend the NSPC public hearing, set for Aug. 14, 2025, at the Caesars Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, N.J.
The NSPC Committee accepted proposals for changes to the 2024 NSPC from July 1, 2024, through Feb. 28, 2025. Changes approved at the August hearing will appear in the 2027 NSPC. The NSPC Committee reviews the code annually and updates it on a three-year cycle.
The proposed changes for the 2027 NSPC are available to the public for downloading and viewing after June 15, 2025.
“The NSPC continues to serve the plumbing industry with minimum requirements that reflect current practices,” said NSPC Chairman Thomas Pitcherello. “A wide range of diverse interest groups from contractors, inspectors, manufacturers, engineers, and labor have contributed to the development of the NSPC, making it a vital state code for New Jersey and the testing code authority for master plumbers and inspectors since 1977.”
