The National Kitchen & Bath Association and the NEX partners are still discussing the possible combination of the Kitchen/Bath Industry Show and the North American Expo. The NEX partners include the American Supply Association, the Canadian Institute of Plumbing and Heating and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors-National Association.
"NKBA and NEX definitely agree we should join forces," said Jeff Burton, 1999 NKBA president.
"We have a meeting scheduled for early June involving Miller Freeman, NKBA and NEX," said Inge Calderon, ASA executive vice president. "We hope that there will be a merger of the two trade shows in the near future."
"There is a lot of interest in seeing one major trade show, whether annual or biennial," said Edward Hardison, CIPH president and general manager.
NEX is having similar discussions with the Plumbing Manufacturers Institute and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers, he said.
