Maurice "Moe" Desmarais, executive director of the American Supply Association and most recently general manager of the ASA Center for Advancing Technology, has resigned to join Smith, Bucklin & Associates, an association management firm also based in Chicago. Desmarais also had been director for the North American Exposition. His career with ASA and its regional affiliates spanned 15 years.

His first two assignments as a senior account executive at Smith, Bucklin involve serving as executive director of the Battery Council International and the Sealed Insulating Glass Manufacturers Association. Smith, Bucklin manages 170 associations.

"ASA is in the process of a structural reorganization and will be seeking to address the vacancy created by Moe's departure," said Inge Calderon, ASA's executive vice president. "We plan to regroup and get somebody else on staff to take over those responsibilities."
