PSDI, a provider of enterprise asset maintenance and MRO e-commerce systems, has acquired the semimonthly newsletter Modern Distribution Management, which covers the overall industrial-distribution market. MDM's content and editorial resources will now become part of PSDI's MRO.com portal.

Tom Gale, editor of MDM, has been named MRO.com's executive editor. Rusty Duncan will continue to provide market data from his company, Industrial Market Information.

"Through MRO.com, we now plan to build on the traditional focus and expand our audience to meet the information needs of MRO customers as well as distributors and suppliers," Gale wrote in the Jan. 25 issue of MDM.

In other news, PSDI also announced that it has been selected by Newark Electronics to provide online procurement services. Newark is the broadest and largest small-order distributor of electronic components, according to a press release. MRO.com will also provide electronic-commerce to CE Franklin Ltd., a supplier of goods and supply-chain services to the Canadian oil and gas industry.
