BrassCraft introduced a magnet-based excess flow valve, which immediately restricts gas flow to a non-hazardous level (bypass flow) to avert the potential for a dangerous release of gas into the home. The Safety+PLUS® automatic gas safety valves - a new line of excess flow valves offering greater protection for home and family - has been offered to contractors involved in the rebuilding effort following the hurricanes.

Safety+PLUS controls gas flow only at the appliance where the problem exists, allowing the rest of the gas system to continue functioning. Once the gas line rupture has been properly repaired, the Safety+PLUS valve utilizes a bypass flow to pressurize the gas line and automatically reset the valve to restore gas flow to the appliance.
