Ron Katz, chairman/CEO of Elkay Manufacturing Co., celebrated 50 years of service with the company in January. He is the grandson of Leopold Katz, who co-founded Elkay with his son, Louis. Over the years Ron Katz held positions in the shop, production control and purchasing. He was elected corporate secretary in 1960 and soon after joined the board. He has also served as vice president/corporate planning and president/COO. He has been chairman/CEO since 1986. "Every one of our business units has more people working in it today than it did a year ago," said Jack Edl, president/COO. "Within the past 12 years alone, sales have quadrupled - another testimony to Ron's leadership," said John Heilstedt, executive vice president/sales and marketing.
