The National Fire Protection Association promoted Robert Solomon, P.E., to assistant vice president/building and life safety codes. He had been NFPA's chief building fire protection engineer. Solomon will continue to manage NFPA's building fire protection and life safety department and the technical development of related codes, including the proposed NFPA 5000, Building Code, the first building code developed through a consensus process accredited by the American National Standards Institute.
