Research conducted by Creative Specialties International, a division of Moen Inc., and Rooms of America, a consumer research organization, found that decorating themes are "somewhat important" to "extremely important" in the master bath or powder room, according to 75% of respondents. The most popular decorating themes are traditional, contemporary/casual or country.

Chrome is still the favorite finish for bath accessories, but consumers' second choice, brushed nickel, is on the rise, the survey said. Other finishes such as oil-rubbed bronze and wrought iron are increasing in popularity. The survey found that non-chrome finishes represent almost half of bath accessory sales.

Relying on this research, Creative Specialties International introduced four bath accessory collections under the Inspirations[TM] brand. Each of the collections -- Kelsey[TM] , Vernini[TM], Sienna[TM] and Westbury[TM] -- fall into one of the three design categories. The survey found that 38% of respondents decorate in a casual or contemporary style; 35% choose a traditional style of decorating; and 27% decorate in a country theme, such as Shaker, Country French or Mission.
