During last month's ASA Annual Meeting, members of the Associate Division approved a name change. Manufacturers, manufacturers reps and others who belong to ASA will now be referred to as "Vendor Members."

The change was precipitated by the Executive Council of the Division, who felt that the term "Vendor" was more reflective of the growing integration of manufacturers, reps and service suppliers into the ASA organization as a whole. The full ASA Board of Directors unanimously agreed, and during the November 1st meeting of the Associate Members, the group agreed to change their name to "Vendor Member Division."

The VMD has for several years been represented on the ASA Board by three manufacturers and one manufacturers representative. In addition, VMD delegates serve on virtually every ASA and ASA Education Foundation committee and task force. Their influence has proven to be invaluable to the organization's ongoing success.
