A new Electric Resistance Weld (ERW) mill located at Sharon Tube Co.'s Niles, Ohio facility is now complete. Production and shipment of customer orders has begun.

The $9.5 million expansion project is part of Sharon Tube's ongoing strategy to increase participation in the mechanical tubing market. The new ERW mill is specifically designed to produce redraw hollows for the drawn-over-mandrel (D.O.M.) mechanical tubing product line, produced to ASTM A-513, Type-5 standards, in their entire size range. Additionally Sharon Tube will begin marketing as-welded tubing produced to ASTM A-513 Type-1 standards. Size range is expanded with the new mill from .375" O.D. to 5.250" O.D. and walls from .035" to .390".
