McJunkin Corp. announced in late April it had signed a letter of intent to acquire substantially all the assets of CIGMA LLC of Indianapolis, Ind. Founded in 1997 to provide gas products and integrated supply services, CIGMA is a jointly held subsidiary of Vectren Corp. of Evansville, Ind., and Citizens Gas & Coke Utility of Indianapolis.

McJunkin and CIGMA distribute products such as PE pipe and fittings, valves, meter sets and line markers to gas utilities. The companies also serve as the outsourced materials manager for several utilities around the country.

"This acquisition greatly expands the breadth of products and services we can bring to the market," said David Campbell, vice president of McJunkin's Gas Products division.

The transaction is expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2003.
