The Distribution Research and Education Foundation of the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors named Adam J. Fein, president of Pembroke Consulting, as its first DREF Fellow. The DREF Fellows program was established to extend NAW's relationship with individuals who could make further contributions to the state of knowledge in distribution. DREF will name individuals who have a record of achievement in wholesale distribution to terms as DREF Fellows.

Fein authored a 1997 report for DREF titled, "Consolidation in Wholesale Distribution: Understanding Industry Change" and is at work on another report for NAW/DREF titled, "Winning Strategies for a Consolidating Wholesale Distribution Industry."
