The Foundation has now expanded management training opportunities with the University of Industrial Distribution. This year's university was held on March 2-5 at the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Ala. More than 125 wholesaler/distributor managers attended their choice of 19 full- and half-day workshops over the 4-day period. During the conference, participants developed and strengthened their skills in sales and sales management, branch management, negotiations, inventory management, best practices, customer service, team building, leadership and developing more profitable supplier relationships. The University of Industrial Distribution is a unique experience developed exclusively for the industrial distribution industries. The ASA Education Foundation, in cooperation with several other industrial distribution associations, sponsors UID. It is convened once per year in Birmingham, Ala.
