A unique business model has been formed by plumbing chemical firms Oatey Co. and Hercules Chemical Co. Effective January 2002, Oatey Supply Chain Services (Oatey SCS) is the source for all Oatey and Hercules products, including Cherne, United Elchem, Cloroben and Arfco brands. Oatey SCS provides customers multiple brands on one purchase or EDI order, resulting in lower order requirements, one comprehensive sales program, one shipment, one invoice, one sales rep and one complete source, although Oatey and Hercules remain separate companies. Oatey SCS was formed for the sole purpose of driving down supply chain costs for all participants. It should improve inventory turns, lower acquisition costs and provide a higher return on assets for the customer.
