PW Eagle announced a number of strategic changes aimed at integrating the PW Pipe and Extrusion Technologies (ETI) business units and spinning off non-core businesses to focus on its core PVC pipe business. Management of the PW Pipe and ETI units have been combined into a team headed by Jerry Dukes, president; Jack Cobb, executive vice president, operations; and Scott Long as chief financial officer. PW Eagle has transferred its polyethylene pipe business to a wholly-owned subsidiary, PW Poly Corp. PW Poly also is a partner in the acquisition of W. L. Plastics, LLC.
The company also has sold its subsidiary, MidStates Plastics, Inc., a manufacturer of plastic water meter boxes, to Carson Industries, LLC. Also, as previously announced, the company has signed an agreement to sell for $2.3 million its idled facility in Phoenix that has been closed since Nov. 2001. They are also in discussions with buyers for facilities in Visalia, CA, Hastings, NE and Baker City, OR.
