Danfoss entered into a 50/50 joint venture with Montreal-based Turbocor Inc., which manufactures oil-free centrifugal refrigerant compressors. Danfoss Turbocor Compressors Inc. will provide energy efficient compressors that optimize operating costs, focusing on the heavy commercial and light industrial chiller markets for commercial air conditioning in the range of 60-90 tons(R134a).

This transaction expands Danfoss's commercial compressor product line to include high-efficiency oil-free centrifugals and enables further expansion in field installations for Turbocor. Joe Orosz, president of Danfoss Commercial Compressors Ltd. in Lawrenceville, Ga., has been appointed president of the new company.
