“Refrigerants, Naturally,” an alternative-refrigerant conference held in Brussels, Belgium on June 22, discussed developing technologies that could offer alternatives to hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerants for the food and beverage industry. Industry attendees included Danfoss and York International. Danfoss discussed its development of a solar-powered compressor using hydrocarbon refrigerant used in coolers, and the development of a CO2 compressor for use in vending machines and glass door merchandisers.
