A recent survey commissioned by American Standard found that 26% of adult consumers wanted to remodel their kitchens. Nine percent of the respondents said they would like to renovate the bathroom. This widespread interest in redoing the kitchen was echoed in a recent Web survey by the American Society of Interior Designers. Only slightly more women (29%) chose a kitchen renovation compared with men (23%). A kitchen update was most popular with adults in the age range of 55-64, with 32% choosing this as their top home renovation. While renovating the bathroom was not first choice for most respondents, 47% said they would choose it as one of their top three preferences for a home improvement. KRC Research conducted the National American Standard survey of 1,020 randomly selected adult men and women age 18 and over between July 18 - 21, 2003.
