Elkay, which produces stainless steel residential and commercial sinks, has acquired Phylrich International, a manufacturer of decorative plumbing products. Details were not released.

Phylrich International, based in Burbank, Calif., was founded in 1959. The company offers more than 100 series of faucets in a variety of styles and finishes, as well as coordinating wall accessories, shower systems and tub fillers. Elkay Manufacturing Co., based in Oak Brook, Ill., has been in business more than 80 years. Elkay manufactures stainless steel sinks, water coolers, drinking fountains and faucets for residential and commercial use. It is also the parent company of E.B. Tecnica Mexicana, Elkay Canada, as well as Yorktowne Cabinetry, Medallion Cabinetry and MasterCraft Cabinetry.

“The acquisition of Phylrich International supports our strategy to expand Elkay's presence in the luxury faucet market,” said Jim Scott, president, Elkay Division, in a statement. “Last year, Elkay introduced four artistically inspired kitchen faucet collections and this acquisition will add premium bath products to our growing residential faucet offering.”

With this acquisition, the Phylrich sales and marketing team will be complemented by the Elkay Division's sales and marketing resources, and the California plant operations will be supported by the Elkay operations management team.
