The new building will include 8,100 sq. ft. of office space and a 55,900-sq.-ft. warehouse. Future expansion to add a showroom and display areas is possible at this location. Seven acres have been placed under option for expansion opportunities.
Carlton Harwood will serve as president and general manager of the new facility, which will employ 45 people.
This will be Ferguson's primary Hampton Roads distribution center serving customers from Providence Force to Virginia Beach, Va.
In other news, Ferguson opened an 8,000-sq.-ft. showroom as a satellite of its Baltimore operation in Timonium, Md. The new facility contains a working kitchen that will feature live gourmet chef demonstration events. It is the Baltimore area's only Kohler and Kallista Premier showroom, featuring the hottest trends in kitchen, bath and lighting design.
