Watts Radiant held an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony for its new 143,000-sq.-ft. facility in Springfield, Mo., last September. The new building sits on 20 acres and is part of the Partnership Industrial Center, an economic development project in Springfield.

According to Mike Chiles, president, the new facility permits all departments to spread out, with room to grow. “We put a lot of planning into the building's layout and design before the move and were especially attentive to streamlining manufacturing and shipping processes,” he said.

The company reported sales are up 44% so far in 2004. This is a jump from 2003's growth, which was up 10% over 2002. Onix (EPDM tubing) sales are up 20%, RadiantPEX sales are up 30%, and WaterPEX sales are up 100%.

As part of the new facility, Watts Radiant also constructed a two-story “Hands-On-House” in the building. It will serve as a set for video productions, professional photography and various research and development projects.
