BBT Thermotechnik, a member of the Bosch Group and a European manufacturer of heating products, has acquired 100% of U.S.-based Controlled Energy Corp., manufacturer of instantaneous gas water heaters.

CEC, a long-standing distributor of BBT products, has 70 employees and annual sales of $34 million in the United States. This acquisition will complement the company's U.S. subsidiary, Buderus Hydronic Systems.

CEC and Buderus are expected to be merged into a new company: BBT North America.
