American Standard Cos. named James E. Dwyer president of its global Bath and Kitchen business, reporting to Chairman and CEO Fred Poses, as of Sept. 1. Dwyer has spent the past 10 years in senior executive roles with major consumer enterprises, including PepsiCo and Kraft General Foods. Since June 2002, he has been president of Tropicana Products, North America. He joined Tropicana in 1995, where his job titles included senior vice president/marketing North America; senior vice president and general manager for North America's non-grocery business and Latin America; and senior vice president, North American Commercial Operations. Previously, he was PepsiCo's senior vice president of merger integration, where he oversaw the global integration of PepsiCo and the Quaker Oats Co. Poses had sought someone with both operational and marketing expertise, as well as experience in brand building and strengthening distribution systems, because plumbing products have become so consumer- and market-driven.
