Jacuzzi Brands dedicated a new Engineering and Sourcing Center in the city of Zhuhai in the People's Republic of China April 19. Donald C. Devine, Jacuzzi Brands president and chief operating officer, and Wang Shun Sheng, the mayor of the Zhuhai Municipality Government, presided over the dedication. The new facility will identify, manage and maintain qualified contract manufacturers in Asia for the global sourcing and supply of the company's products, primarily in the Bath Division. It will also showcase Jacuzzi Brands' products geared towards the Chinese market to potential business partners in the south of China. The facility is expected to be fully staffed by June 2005. In fiscal 2004, Jacuzzi sourced about $75 million worth of goods from China and expects that number to double by the end of fiscal 2006, according to Mark Prince, vice president of global sourcing for Jacuzzi Brands.
