With less than $400,000 left to raise, the Karl E. Neupert Endowment Fund Campaign has progressed to within striking distance of its $10 million goal. The pioneers who developed the vision, led the campaign and contributed to the Fund can proudly take credit for the myriad new and revised Foundation programs that Fund earnings have made possible.
The challenge to complete the campaign has recently been taken up by a new campaign team led by H. Steve Anderson of Central States Industrial Supply in Omaha, Neb. Then, we were especially delighted when, in January, 2005, Karolyn Neupert, Chairman of the Board of Consolidated Supply in Portland, Ore., joined Steve as Co-Chair of the Endowment Fund Campaign Board.
“Completing the campaign and realizing the vision that Karl and the other visionaries put so much of their energy into cannot be an option.” said Karolyn. “Education is our channel's most important strategy for survival and prosperity. ASA, as the leading association for the distribution community, is the most logical entity for ensuring all needed programs are provided.” Neupert added.
We ask that ASA members who have not yet contributed to the Fund please consider making a pledge. With the growing industry need and reduced earnings expected over the next few years, completing the campaign is more important than ever. Without the Fund, none of the programs described in this article would have been developed.
