“Both parties see this acquisition as a perfect fit with the two Deschenes Group subsidiaries, Desco Plumbing and Heating Supply and Boone Plumbing and Heating Supply in Ontario,” Martin Deschenes, president and CEO, said in a statement. “Complementary branch locations and broadened product sales mix ideally suit the markets.”
Bardon Supplies, which was founded 36 years ago by the Raycroft family, will retain its name and operational structure under the leadership of Barry Raycroft and his management team.
The combined company will have 1,100 employees.
Both wholesale firms are long-term members of the Canaplus buying group. According to Deschenes Group, the two wholesalers share the common attributes of impressive market reputations, strong financial situations and significant technology investment.
The 65-year-old Deschenes Group remains a family-run business and says it is the third largest wholesaler in the industry in Canada, with sales of more than $263 million (U.S.) in 2004. Deschenes Group distributes plumbing, hydronic, HVAC, and waterworks products from locations in Quebec, Ontario and Alberta.
