About 50 ECR International employees and their families volunteered their time in July for the Boilermaker Road Race, and 10 ECR employees ran the race. The Boilermaker was created in 1976 to thank the community for its support of Utica Boilers (now ECR International). Today the Boilermaker is considered the largest 15K road race in the nation with more than 10,000 runners from around the world. This year's winner was Gilbert Okari of Kenya with a time of 43:22, while the top female finisher, Sally Barsosio of Kenya (below), had a time of 50:11.
