Intuit Inc. completed the acquisition of Eclipse Inc., enabling the company to enter the wholesale distribution software segment. Eclipse will operate as a separate business unit of Intuit. Intuit will offer Eclipse's current products and services under the newly named Intuit Eclipse brand.

Michael London, one of Eclipse's founders and CEO, will lead the new business unit as vice president of the Intuit Distribution Management Solutions Division, reporting to Steve Bennett, Intuit president/CEO. Eclipse is based in Shelton, Conn., with offices in Boulder, Colo., and West Yarmouth, Maine.

Intuit acquired Eclipse's assets for about $85 million in cash and expects Intuit Eclipse to contribute between $40-$50 million in revenue in its 2003 fiscal year.
