Tyco Fire & Building Products said its Ultra K-17 Control Mode Sprinkler with a 16.8 K factor has been approved by Factory Mutual for use in cold storage applications without the need for in-rack sprinklers. This product is approved to protect both Class 1 and Class 2 commodities up to 35 feet (10.5 meters) high in a 40 foot (12.2 meters) high building, and replaces large drop sprinklers in high-pile, cold storage applications.
