A.Y. McDonald's acquisition of Cambridge Brass was completed April 3, between McDonald and Masco Corp., which has owned Cambridge Brass since 1992. Founded in 1905, Cambridge Brass manufactures water works service brass valves and fittings similar to A.Y. McDonald.

This acquisition fits McDonald' strategic goal of penetrating markets outside the United States and further enhances its domestic market share as well. Each company will continue to be operated independently with separate management, market strategies and sales forces, according to Roy Sherman, chairman of A.Y. McDonald Mfg. Co.
