Dennis Niver of Red Man Pipe & Supply, Tulsa, addresses the IPD membership last September at the ASA Convention in Chicago.

For wholesalers and manufacturers of industrial PVF products, one of the primary highlights of the ASA convention experience is the opportunity to network with their trading partners. The “IPD Open House” program will make its debut at “Network‘07” (otherwise known as the ASA annual convention) in Anaheim, Calif., October 24-27.

At the ASA Convention last September, Brian Beaulieu of The Institute for Trend Research offered a packed room of IPD wholesalers and vendors a customized view of global economic trends and forecasts of what they could expect in 2007.

As a benefit of their membership in the IPD, wholesalers and vendors have long enjoyed the IPD Annual Reception as a venue for getting together and engaging in informal discussions. The “Open House” program expands on that concept by creating “IPD Partners” with a select number of vendors who want to put some additional emphasis on their company during that event.

The IPD Reception is one of the most popular places for wholesalers and their vendors to catch up on the latest “goings on” within the industry. The “IPD Open House” in Anaheim will expand that event and put the spotlight on a select group of manufacturers.

The “IPD Partners” designation will only be available to fifteen companies this year, as the program is launched (first-come, first-served basis). “This is the only place where IPD member vendors can meet with their distributors without having to make separate arrangements for breakfast, lunch, dinners or costly trips,” said Dennis Niver, the IPD Chairman. “This is the perfect venue to continue conversations started earlier during the convention, and to share information on products, services and opportunities in a setting that caters solely to the PVF sector.”

Gary Ittner (L) of McJunkin Corp., Charleston, WV, accepts a plaque from incoming Chair Dennis Niver in recognition of his service as 2005-06 Chairman of the ASA Industrial Piping Division.

The IPD Partners program will include:

  • A designated seating area located on the perimeter of the ballroom.
  • A banner prominently displaying the IPD Partner’s name.
  • Signage displayed at all IPD events during the “Network‘07” program.
  • Additional recognition in pre-event promotions and during reception.
  • Special identifying ribbons for all IPD Partner executives

Full promotional details will be sent out via mail and email in the near future.
