The Delta Distributors announced that Philip Knipper, a 30-year PVF industry professional, has been appointed president of this national consortium of PVF distributors. Knipper recently resigned as a senior manager for Home Depot Supply/Apex, Duluth, GA, where he had served for the past 12 years, to take the newly created executive post.
Knipper is nationally known among PVF distributors for his continuing involvement with the IPD Executive Council of ASA and special ASA national projects. He previously served as vice president of corporate purchasing for Hub Inc., Atlanta, and began his career in the industry as assistant manager of tubular products for the former Newport Steel/NS Group.
The Delta Alliance (Distributors) was formed in 1997 and has operated as a limited liability corporation. It is a buying group of dominant regional distributors primarily focused on industrial PVF. “Over the past 10 years, The Delta Alliance has matured and developed a dynamic chemistry among its members,” Knipper said. “The group has decided it is time to launch a more visible and more strategic marketing presence. Naming a national president is a result of that maturity.”
