G. Guthrie Conyngham, 84, CEO of W.H. Conyngham & Co. Inc., parent company of wholesale distributor Eastern PA Supply Co., died peacefully at his home May 10. After active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps, he began his career at the family business, Eastern PA Supply Co., Wilkes-Barre, PA, but was recalled to active duty in 1951. He was sent to Korea where he earned two Purple Hearts and was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. He would continue to work at his family’s business and be an active member of the community for the next 55 years. He was one of the early presidents of the Middle Atlantic Wholesalers Association, one of the ASA’s regionals, and served on its first board. Conyngham was also an active member of C.L. Watt, a management and marketing cooperative group.
