Changes in the industry and in customers’ demands led Banner Plumbing Supply Co. to open a location at 1020 E. Lake Cook Road in Buffalo Grove, IL. The 100,000-sq.-ft.-plus building, which will house the wholesaler’s sales offices, warehouse and a luxury showroom, is scheduled to open to the public in early fall.
This is its second location. The 60-year-old business also has a warehouse at 7255 Cottage Grove Ave. in Chicago, which serves the south side of Chicago and northern Indiana. The Buffalo Grove facility will serve the north side of the city and southern Wisconsin.
The 70,000-sq.-ft. Buffalo Grove warehouse is open from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and offers a comfortable waiting area in the counter sales department. The company has tripled the number of employees and terminals assigned to the warehouse. Order picking and packing is computerized.
Banner has a fleet of 21 delivery trucks, of which eight are equipped with arms that can lift 2,500 pounds from a distance of 40 feet. The company offers free delivery.
The new showroom, designed by Michelle Henderson, showroom manager, with input from SHI of Canada and Brennan Design Group, Chicago, will carry 38 decorative plumbing lines, of which 29 are new to the company.
Among the products to be featured are TOTO’s Neorest, Ming vessel sinks by Linkasink, Porcher fixtures and faucets, Sonia cabinetry and accessories, Hansgrohe faucets and Duravit fixtures. Many of the displays will be functioning so that visitors can test the products.
