Timothy J. Jahnke, most recently group president, Home and Family Products Group of Newell Rubbermaid, has joined Elkay as president and CEO.
Steve Rogers has been named the new president of Elkay’s PPD and will also serve on the company’s corporate executive council. Rogers joined Elkay in 2004, serving as the vice president of engineering for the PPD.
Katz, who is the grandson and son of the co-founders of Elkay Manufacturing Co. and has been with the company for 55 years, assumed the position of executive chairman of the board of directors effective Dec. 1. He joined the company as a product inspector. Over the years he served in positions including corporate secretary, production control manager, purchasing agent, vice president/corporate planning, executive vice president, president and chief operating officer and in 1985, vice chairman and chief executive officer.
During his years as president of the Cabinet Division and as president and chief operating officer of Elkay, the Cabinet Division grew in revenues and position within the industry. At the same time, also under Edl’s leadership, Elkay’s Plumbing Products Division grew to become a global manufacturer with operations expanding to Canada, Mexico and China.
Jim Scott joined Elkay in May 1974 as the administrative services manager. Since then he has held many key executive positions including corporate vice president of administrative services and vice president of operations, prior to being named president of the PPD in January of 1999. In addition to managing the PPD, Scott also served on Elkay's Corporate Executive Council.
"Scott's leadership as president of the PPD has contributed to the growth and success of both the Division and the company overall," Edl said in a statement.
Jahnke joins Elkay following 21 years of experience as president and group executive of several consumer business units, as the top human resource executive and as a corporate officer.
Jahnke has demonstrated “exceptional skill at leading businesses to achieve outstanding results and building world class organizations,” Katz said in a statement.
Rogers had a 27-year career at ISPAT International, NV/Inland Steel, a billion dollar supplier to the automotive industry, prior to joining Elkay. He served in a variety of management positions including vice president of sales and marketing and president of Inland Steel Bar Co. Rogers is credited with bringing substantial innovations in manufacturing and engineering systems, as well as new product development since coming to Elkay.
