ASA partners with PHCC and ACCA in Washington,
D.C.
ASA urges
distributors and manufacturers who do business in the PHCP/PVF industry to
participate in the Joint Legislative Fly-In, scheduled for April 29 & 30,
2009 in Washington, D.C.
The
Legislative Fly-In provides a unique opportunity to develop and foster
relationships with members of Congress and their staffs. Participants will take
part in personal meetings with their elected officials, where they can discuss
issues and urge these officials to make decisions in the best interests of
their businesses and the industry as a whole.
“Ultimately,
the goal for the Legislative Fly-In is to lay the foundation for ongoing and
productive communication between ASA members and their Representatives and
Senators about the needs of their businesses, as well as how legislation and
regulations on key issues will impact the PHCP/PVF industry,” shares Don
Robertson, chairman of ASA’s Government Affairs Committee. “PHCP and PVF
distributors and manufacturers from across the country are needed to help
legislators and regulators fully appreciate how their decisions will impact the
business and economic climate, and the future of our industry.”
ASA will provide participants with
complete briefings on all the issues that will be discussed with the elected. Each
person will receive an issue packet prepared in advance and will be briefed on
what to expect in the meetings. Issues scheduled to be addressed include LIFO
