Hear from CEOs and CFOs on Importance of Training
The ASA Training Council will hold its next meeting November
12 & 13 at the Westin O’Hare Hotel in Chicago. The theme of the event isStrengthening Your Foundation
Through Training, and it will feature a panel of CEOs and CFOs
from the PHCP/PVF industry who will discuss how investing in training
correlates to building a stronger business.
“At the close of each of our events, we survey attendees on
topic they’d like us to explore at the next meeting,” shares Dwight Newton,
corporate training director of Zoeller and chairman of the ASA Training Council
Steering Committee. “An ongoing theme was that the people involved in training
were challenged to get the buy-in from the CFO on the expense involved and that
impacted the CEO’s decision on what level of investment should be made in
training. We know there are companies out there that are fortunate to have both
a committed CEO and CFO and the Steering Committee thought it would be a great
opportunity for trainers and HR representatives to hear their thoughts, and
then be able to pose questions to them directly.”
In addition to the panel discussion, this event will feature
networking roundtable sessions where participants will have the opportunity to
share best practices and issues facing them with other training and HR
professionals in their field. “The networking sessions have really become the highlight
of the meeting for many people,” says Newton. “The sharing between peers is
invaluable and makes an instant impact when you can put ideas to work in your
job that you learned from someone who already lived through it.”
The two-day event is open to all ASA member wholesalers and
manufacturers. For information on registration, please visitwww.asa.netor

the country in the same job function who experience the same challenges and
successes as they do, creating a professional peer network they can turn to as
a resource. There are established Councils for training & HR, showroom
managers and warehouse & operations managers. Coming soon, a Council for CFOs. Please visitwww.asa.netfor more information on this valuable program.
