ECR announced that Tom Reed, one of its founding fathers, has retired. He joined his father in the management of Dunkirk Radiator Corp. shortly after his return from the U.S. Navy and the Viet Nam War. Reed became president of DRC in 1980. He oversaw the company’s change from a foundry-based operation to a finished goods supplier. In 1999 Reed led the Dunkirk side of the merger with the Utica Boiler Cos. to create what is now ECR International. He served as chairman for the past eight years and led the company to a near doubling of revenue.
